"To provide healthful, high quality
home delivered meals..."

We deliver nourishing meals to our clients on a regular basis, helping them to remain self-sufficient in their own homes. Our volunteers are dedicated to helping the disabled, homebound, aged, and chronically or temporarily ill by providing well balanced meals and friendship.

What Are The Meals?

Each meal consists of a hot lunch and a "cold" sack dinner for the evening meal. The hot meal consists of a protein, a vegetable, and a starch. The cold mean consists of a sandwich, salad, fruit, and dessert. A carton of milk and a small carton of juice are also provided daily.

When Are They Delivered?

Meals are delivered to clients' homes by volunteers between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Someone must be home to accept delivery, or an insulated MOW bag, which is available for loan from the Lakewood Meals on Wheels office, must be left out on the porch.

Meals are not delivered on Saturdays, Sundays, and some holidays. Frozen meals are available upon request. They are delivered on the day before the designated holiday or on Friday for the weekend.

What Does It Cost?

Clients are charged $5.00 per day and are billed once per month. Initial minimum service is for two weeks, payable in advance, and is non-refundable.
